I’m really pleased with the Lady Amherst mug and my wife liked it also, so I ordered three other mugs. Had I not been so eager, these would have attracted the 10% discount!

I noticed a slight error on your website – the Silver Stoat Tail fly image on the mug has a silver ribbed black body, which is actually a plain Stoats Tail fly. The true Silver Stoat has a silver body, which sometimes gets a blue throat hackle and is good for salmon and sea trout (at night).

Just a quick note to say that I have now received my mug and replacement print, thanks very much for those. when the print arrived I thought, I don’t recall ordering a large Toblerone:)

Unfortunately, despite your best endeavours, the replacement was also damaged in transit and I attach photos for your information.

I am just letting you know for your own reference and I’m not by any means complaining about this as the service I have received has been excellent, I think your courier has let you down and the photos may assist with any feedback that you provide to them.

I will def order again in the future.

I received 2 of your mugs last week, & very nice they are thank you, my partner, who is a Nurse was really please with her “hero” mug, have you thought of doing them in enamel as a lot of fishermen have enamel mugs as they don’t break when thrown in the tackle bag.

It was indeed 3rd time lucky, the poster arrived intact on Saturday so thank you once again for the excellent service. The poster and mug were for a friend of mine who had been happily tying flies for me all last season so he was delighted, see attached response from him which I think is down to the quality of the items!

I hope you get to the Beauly in April, I was lucky enough to fish there a couple of seasons ago and caught a lovely fish of around 7lb – Gledswood shrimp on a gold double! The same fly hooked a cracking double figure fish on the Oich which I duly lost at my feet! Story for another time!

Hi David and Dave,

My Durham Ranger mugs arrived safely today. The design is crisp and clear and with good colour. I am very pleased with them. When I first saw them online they brought back memories.

Not long after I began fishing in my mid-teens, my great uncle Will, who was the gardener at Old Melrose on the Tweed, gave me a Durham Ranger amongst other tackle which he wished to pass on.  

It was dressed on a size 5/0 hook with a gut eye and it remains to this day the largest salmon fly I have seen.

A number of years later, what did I do? I chopped it up to use the materials for other flies!!! Aaaagh!  Much to my everlasting regret! I still have the hook in my fly tying kit.

I have dressed a couple since to try to make me feel better. One is a respectable size 4 which I use occasionally.

On your mugs, they look close to life-size. Casting a large meat hook like that is quite a thought!

Thank you so much for the kind gift of the flies – my boys were thrilled – they already abide by my adage of “you can never have too many flies”!

Love the picture of you boy with his springer on the website. I am hoping that my boys will start learning to Spey cast in the not too distant future. 

We had a fab day at Avington Lakes, they each caught 2 x 4.5lb Rainbow Trout which are now in my local smokery – one of them did lose a big one, but as they now know, they don’t get big because they are stupid fish!

I have just received my Lady Amherst fishing mug, thank you, I’m really pleased with it. 

Our regular Hermes delivery guy delivered it this morning, but the packaging had clearly been tampered with (see photo). The mug is fine, but someone has clearly ripped the packaging to have a look inside the package. If the contents were of high value, I doubt it would have been delivered.

The driver apologised and advised it was common at this time of year. It might be worth you giving Hermes the feedback.

I heard about your mugs on the fishpal facebook page and had a look, and was delighted the see the Megan Boyd mugs. Someone tied the fly on our local river a couple of years ago and it caught fish, and became very popular. A favourite of mine, but not had a fish on it yet!

Meant to contact you sooner – just to let you know that the Megan Boyd fishing mug arrived safe and sound. The quality of this is absolutely superb – it is part of my son’s Christmas present and I know he will be absolutely delighted with it. As someone who has a very keen interest in photography, I can appreciate all the hard work that must have gone into producing such fine detailed work. 

As a matter of interest I have been involved in angling journalism and PR for over 40 years now but at the age of 83 have obviously cut back considerably. I have written the angling column in the Sunday Post for over 35 years, something I am extremely proud of, and currently, on behalf of a number of Stillwater fisheries, edit and distribute their fishery reports on a weekly basis.
